The performance of the Mac book is good, and the overall score that it received was 340. The Ram scored 108 and the speed of the ram is 2687 MB/s. On the Mac book the Ram, does go at a reasonable speed for the type of computer but to make the performance increase you can increase the size of the Ram which will make the computer run faster and more efficiently.  The mac books CPU test score was 187 which was a good result to have , this is because the computer isn’t as old as some other ones and it is considered updated and a newer model. However improving the CPU can be quite difficult as it would require a new motherboard within the computer, but it is possible to upgrade to a new operating system that would improve the performance of it.  The graphics test scored 29 on the mac book, and the graphics card proves how well it can handle 3D images or if it can do it at all. To improve the graphics score then you can buy a new graphics card that the computer would be compatible with.  Finally the hardware test score was 16. This means that it doesn’t have a lot of data on the computer in which to save things. To improve this there are things you can add, or you could use a external hard drive to ensure there is enough space.

 The performance of Packard bell was an overall score of 171. The ram score was 57 which isn’t a very good score and the computer would be very slow. This is because the Packard bell is an older computer and hasn’t got a lot of newer updates. To improve the ram of the Packard bell you can add more ram by adding ram stick that would improve the performance of it. The CPU test score was 57 which isn’t very good also, the Packard bell wouldn’t be able to run a new operating system such as Windows 7, but possibly may be able to make it better in performance if you added more hardware such as more data. The graphics on Packard bell can’t take 3D images, this is why buying a graphics card would improve the performance of the computer.  And the hardware scored 5, which isn’t good either, but to improve this you can add more hardware to improve the performance of the computer in general.

The mac book is better in general because it is more updated than the Packard bell and it can handle more hardware and data. The age of the Packard bell affects it performance as it hasn’t been updated and has very little use to the thing that a updated computer can do. The mac book had a higher score than the Packard bell by scoring 340 over all while the Packard bell only scored 171.
