Unit 18, Task 1 - M1

Unit 18, Task 1 – M1
Referential integrity is a property of data which requires every value of one attribute of a table to exist as a value of another attribute in a different relation.  These occur in a relational database and for a referential integrity to hold in a relational database records can’t be deleted that contain a value referred to by a foreign key in another table as that would break the referential integrity.

In a database there are columns that contain values and these uniquely identify each row within the database and this is called a primary key.  Primary key constraints guarantee unique data within the database. This is how a database is sorted, the primary key will identify each row and then sort them depending on the data. A table can only contain one primary key constraint. There are also foreign keys within a database. A foreign key is a column or a combination of columns that is used to establish and enforce a link between the data and the two tables to control the data that can be stored in the foreign key table. With the foreign key the link is formed between two tables when the columns hold the primary key value.

Unit 2, Task 6b - M2

Unit 2, Task 6b-M2
Computer – The computer I would recommend is HP as it is a computer that has been recently updated to standards that can suit a user into what they would want to use the computer for. It has a wide range of different hardware appliances that would become useful in a functional manner. HP computers are a decent price for a computer especially for how they work and what they can do, they can range in the hundreds and sometimes even more. However the iMac can be over a thousand pounds which is pretty expensive for a computer system even though it is highly updated. The iMacs can run faster also and this is because they have newer equipment compared to the HP software.

Keyboard - The keyboard that I would use for the HP computer would be the HP branded keyboard that can be bought separately and it also comes with the computer itself. It works better because it was made for the computer and it works well with its functions and its process.  However with the IMacs wireless this product is more expensive compared to the HP keyboard because its newer and its more efficient.  The HP keyboard isn’t as expensive as the wireless one but it is more practical as you can miss place a wireless keyboard.

Mouse – I would also use the HP made mouse for the computer because it would fit perfectly for the computer as it is what it is made for, and there is a specific USB slot in which it should go in. This is also not that expensive to buy for the computer. However the mouse for the IMac isn’t as expensive compared to its other products that can be bought for the computer. The efficiency of the mouse is good because it was made for the computer and this goes for both of the mouse’s, they wouldn’t be as good if they were being used in a different branded computer.

Over all the IMac is better because it has more features and the use is more efficient when dealing with different things. The HP may be cheaper but the hardware and the products aren’t as good and updated as the ones that the IMac has. And even though the iMac may be expensive it is useful.

Unit 2, M3-D2

The performance of the Mac book is good, and the overall score that it received was 340. The Ram scored 108 and the speed of the ram is 2687 MB/s. On the Mac book the Ram, does go at a reasonable speed for the type of computer but to make the performance increase you can increase the size of the Ram which will make the computer run faster and more efficiently.  The mac books CPU test score was 187 which was a good result to have , this is because the computer isn’t as old as some other ones and it is considered updated and a newer model. However improving the CPU can be quite difficult as it would require a new motherboard within the computer, but it is possible to upgrade to a new operating system that would improve the performance of it.  The graphics test scored 29 on the mac book, and the graphics card proves how well it can handle 3D images or if it can do it at all. To improve the graphics score then you can buy a new graphics card that the computer would be compatible with.  Finally the hardware test score was 16. This means that it doesn’t have a lot of data on the computer in which to save things. To improve this there are things you can add, or you could use a external hard drive to ensure there is enough space.
The performance of Packard bell was an overall score of 171. The ram score was 57 which isn’t a very good score and the computer would be very slow. This is because the Packard bell is an older computer and hasn’t got a lot of newer updates. To improve the ram of the Packard bell you can add more ram by adding ram stick that would improve the performance of it. The CPU test score was 57 which isn’t very good also, the Packard bell wouldn’t be able to run a new operating system such as Windows 7, but possibly may be able to make it better in performance if you added more hardware such as more data. The graphics on Packard bell can’t take 3D images, this is why buying a graphics card would improve the performance of the computer.  And the hardware scored 5, which isn’t good either, but to improve this you can add more hardware to improve the performance of the computer in general.
The mac book is better in general because it is more updated than the Packard bell and it can handle more hardware and data. The age of the Packard bell affects it performance as it hasn’t been updated and has very little use to the thing that a updated computer can do. The mac book had a higher score than the Packard bell by scoring 340 over all while the Packard bell only scored 171.
