Task 5 - D1
D1
Verbal communication
– Verbal communication plays an important part in me completing work. It
helps because when verbally communicating it’s easy to comprehend when certain
points are getting explained verbally than just reading it. However the
disadvantage of verbal communication is remembering what has been said. If
something is explained in writing it may be less effective but you can always
go back to it, whereas if its verbally been explained then it’s easier to
forget. It came in useful when I was doing my Dummies Guide because I didn't
understand it but when it was verbally explained I understood what I had to do
and how I had to do it.
Teacher broadcasting
demonstration – When the teacher broadcasts to explain and to help with
work, it comes in handy because it physically shows what you have to do and
where to get certain things you need, it also make instructions more clear to
understand. The disadvantage of this action is that sometimes the instructions
can be complicated to understand and they need to be explained rather than
shown. The teacher used this method when we had to complete task 3, we had to
make a skill development plan on our Google calendar and when he broadcasted
it, it was more clear what I had to do because it was shown to me through my
computer and I could see what exactly I had to do.
Using blogger – when
we complete work we have to upload it to our blogger sites so that the teacher
can mark our work and we get feedback on what we need to correct or add. It’s
useful because it’s an easy way to communicate with the teacher and it’s an
easier way to know what you have to change. We use blogger for every piece of
work so it wasn't useful for just one it was useful for every piece I have
done. There is no disadvantage to
blogger because it’s useful for everything.
Using PowerPoint –
using PowerPoint is useful for the tasks we have done. I used PowerPoint to
complete task 2. We had to describe the barriers of effective communication. I
used PowerPoint because we had to write about different points and PowerPoint
splits it up so it’s easier to read and understand. It’s an easy programme to understand and use
so it’s more effective to do certain tasks on it.
Using Google
calendar- I used Google calendar for
task 3, we had to upload the dates and what skill we had learnt from our
personal development plan. And using Google calendar was effective with this
specific piece of work because we know when and how we learnt the skill and it
was easy to locate the information if we needed it. The disadvantage of using it
is that I found it quite complicated to upload my calendar to blogger and we
had to make it public, and I found it difficult to do. Also I wouldn’t be able
to use it for every piece of work, I can only use it for this specific piece.

M3
Evaluation
During this
evaluation I am going to be explaining the different types of learning skills
which include visual learning, auditory learning and kinaesthetic learning. I
will be explaining what they are and how they work. I will also be explain
which one I prefer to use and which one is more effective towards my learning.
These techniques are used to learn new things
Visual learning is one of the main types of learning
and is preferred by many people. Some people think it is easier and more
effective to learn visually. When you
are being taught new information and you are a visual learner, it is easier for
you to learn and remember what has been said and taught if you have seen it
rather than if you have just heard it
Auditory learning is another type of learning style
and it’s when people learn from listening. When you are learning by listening
it’s important that the person needs to listen carefully to understand and to
get all of the information. When using this learning skill people use a
technique when they constantly repeat what they have heard in order to remember
it and actually learn it. I do not like learning this way as it’s hard to
remember all of the information no matter what it’s about. It also is a hard
learning skill out of all of them because it’s mainly about memory.
Kinaesthetic learning is when you learn physically rather
than listening or looking. Doing activities in order to understand them is what
people do who prefer to kinaesthetically. They are commonly known as do-ers as
not a high amount of people find this way useful. They find it easier than just
sitting around listening to information or watching demonstrations they would
understand more if they physically did it themselves.
When
developing my skills I used visual learning because I find it easier to
understand and comprehend when trying to learn something. However I also used
auditory because its more clear when something is explained as well as
demonstrated. It’s good to have a mixture of techniques because it makes
learning easier. I also used kinaesthetic learning by actually practicing things, but my favourite way to learn is visually as its easier for me.
